There will be an Open Afternoon at 2pm on 27th March 2026 for anyone interested in finding out more about Sixth Form study at Coleraine Grammar School.
Coleraine Grammar School is a large voluntary grammar school situated on the Castlerock Road. It has well over a thousand pupils and almost a quarter of them are in sixth form. Many of the pupils who start Y13 have already been studying at the school but each year there are many pupils come to Coleraine Grammar School from other schools. This may be because of the subjects delivered at the school, the extracurricular provision, the extensive career guidance, the transport links or simply that their friends are at the school. Whatever the reason you will be made very welcome at CGS.
The school buildings have gone through a considerable refurbishment recently resulting in a new state of the art Sixth Form centre, along with new music and home economics facilities. A new hockey pitch and fitness suite was added in 2025 and the river pavilion and games hall have also recently been updated. A new media studies suite and technology rooms has also been added.
It is an exciting time for Coleraine Grammar School and we want you to be part of it!

There are a number of posts in the Classwork tab that you can look at. There is a significant amount of information regarding careers and information/videos about each subject offered. Feel free to reply to the ‘Welcome’ post on the GC if you have any queries or questions.
When you have selected your three subjects, send a message in reply to the same post.
We will hold a Year 13 Open Day on Friday 27th March at 2pm when more information will be shared.
A place in CGS and the subjects studied will be confirmed in August following the results process.
